There is chrono creep, and that the pushers don't work,

Very well put Hansaboy !
I think the pushers are just stuck because of the dirt that is blocking the cap from moving. Hour register creep is common with cal 861. This watch, it is clear , is in great need of service ! and even if it would function 100% on the chronograph, it would still need a service. So these costs for me are "standard" with a chronograph of this age. The risk is only in more parts fro the movement, but pushers and main spring are included already in the standard service. So not much risk there.

The main concern should be for originality, sharp case, and how much room there is for improvement on the looks by cleaning and service, and light polish of the crystal. So for max 3000 plus 1000 service you have a great watch.

With "upward potential " 🤮...

Why would someone not wipe off a watch they were trying to sell? Amazing. I would think there is something to hide.

Personally, the chunks of DNA don't turn me off at all, I'm looking past that to assess what it will look like after it's cleaned.

This one is a stone cold Fair watch for me in it's current condition. I wouldn't value it a penny higher. It's true that the case, bezel, movement, even the dial may be towards Good but you have to assess on what you can and cannot see. Too risky to value it any higher, particularly when there's no overall attraction to make me want it.

Saying that, will i be leaving a bid at the Fair price? Absolutely not. It's not a watch for me.

Spot on there David!

But somebody on the floor during the auction might find something that we can't see, or some might take a risk??

My issue is that even *if* the movement serial lines up with a DNN 145.022-69 and even *if* you are able to clean the watch up and service the movement (I would assume rust in there), you are still left with a watch that has been polished and has a bad dial. I would never want to own that watch, it would always nag at me.

With an $800 service and the auction premium, the watch is already over 3000 EURO/3,300 USD.

Agree that this will likely be a dealer watch... and they'll probably try to sell it for some crazy price.

WOOOW. I see a lot of value in this with some sweat equity involved. Clean and service this piece and It bet it would go for $1-2k more than sells for in the current condition.
