The central second hand on the left watch is a later one. It was the earliest used on the 145.012 in 1968. A 7912 bracelet on earlier 105.003 might be correct, later it was often the 1501
Thank you all for viewing and spending the time to analyze and answer. We are still waiting for the correct answer. Quiz is 24 hours long and ends in approximately 14 hours. EDIT. Quiz will end today at 3:30 pm Eastern Daylight Time. ThIs is in approximately 8 hours. By then everyone should have had a chance to participate. This new end time will allow more time for post quiz discussion by sleepy Europeans.
Just looked quickly but the bezel on 1 looks too big for the watch - you can see the outer margins of the bezel spilling over to overlap with the pushers in the backside photos.
Not very experienced on Speedmasters, but the bezel of Ed 2 seems not correct: the numbers are too far out (see '60') and hence not totally visible anymore. Pff difficult one, this is Have to read up
Mr. Fost: Congratulations, I have had a conference with the judges and you are hereby declared the winner (and only winner) of this quiz. The #6 end links may indeed be written with some type of a hammer because they are indeed not Omega but AFTERMARKET NUMBER 6 END LINKS!! SEE THE BELOW PHOTOS I discovered these recently and I believe that they are new to the market. I will be posting a new thread to further discuss them.
Well I cannot say I would call that "Grossly Incorrect". Wrong yes, annoying indeed, but I am not sure I would call it gross. I cannot see anyone not buying one of these watches because of these endlinks, whereas a replaced dial or fake case, is something I would call gross. Very interesting though, and I didnt get it. Hence the grumpy hairsplitting on gross. I enjoyed this very much, my wife got annoyed ("What do you keep looking at?"). Looking forward to the next one. What I cannot quite see is the date on the left hand bracelet which looks like it is dated '61. Is that the date stamped?
I definitely enjoyed the quiz, but was thinking while staring at the pictures "I think i need to look up the term gross..."
