·It doesn't bode well for the future of the franchise. Too much woke nonsense floating around the Amazon gene pool. We will have to wait and see what comes out in the next choice of the Bond actor, that will tell a lot.

·At least it is not Disney. Then we would see 10 new James Bond movies over the next 4 years as well as a Q spin-off, a prequel spin-off following M climbing the latter in MI6 and 7 LEGO James Bond movies

What do people think they’re going to do to ruin it making it woke?
I get the concern about them flogging it to death with spin offs etc but I’m not clear on all the woke stuff everyone seems to be worried about

·If anyone has been paying attention to Amazon and Bezos, they're certainly not going to make it "woke". Bezos has already bent the knee to Trump.
I still think if they are smart, they will maintain the trajectory of the typical Bond film. Anything else will be worse and make less money.

But I will admit, if it ends up being a black gay Eskimo with a French accent, I'll watch it just to see the spectacle for myself.

Forget the chatter that Bezos has taken a knee to Trump, like that is supposed to signal that no changes are coming? This has nothing to do with Trump.
Yes, making Bond female, trans, Black, Asian or gay would likely gravely damage the franchise going forward. Black or Asian isn't that big a deal these days, but the other characteristics would be deadly, imo. Call it woke or whatever you like, but that's the fear. And it's not to be taken lightly.

Worse, it could be referring to a future where Bond runs through a Disney park, allies with the FBI or CIA, orders a Bud Light. Or maybe there's an in-movie placement for M&Ms, Mr. Potatohead, United Airlines, or Campbells soup. It's possible they could use a song of Taylor Swift's, or show college professors teaching, or drag performers in a background scene. There might be some offhand reference to LGB
I remember the days where Dad would get the latest Bond book for his birthday in June, and save to read it while we would vacation in Avalon during the last week of august just before school would start. He would read his Ian Fleming, and we kids would read our really boring Rudyard Kipling etc. from the "Summer Book List" handed out by the school. I do remember a lot from Just So Stories.

The only thing I think should be out of bounds is gender and nationality - James Bond should be a man. An English man. But, he can easily be an ethnicity other than white or a sexuality other than straight. Isn’t James Bond meant to represent the crème of the British Navy and armed services? Do people really think there’s only straight white guys in the military?

·Yeah that would be bad. Not everything with a white English guy needs to be reappropriated to another race, sexuality, accent. Bond means something to all the fans, change it and you lose the narrative. Might gain new fans too, but that is a losing game.

This whole scenario reminds me of the Ghostbusters film series with the first 2 editions all in the same playbook for their fans but the 3rd was a major departure that may have gained a few new sections of the general community but lost its original fans.
Thankfully the franchise owners saw sense and rebooted with a continuation of the first 2 as a continuation with the 3rd would have surely been it's death nell.
Interestingly looking at wiki the whole 3rd edition has been effectively side lined, cash is king!
So whilst there might be some initial worry for the Bond film future I suspect that the audience will be the determining factor in its survival.
