It looks like you can buy Omega's through Amazon via a gray dealers. When I added the watch to my cart I got a pop-up stating the watch is covered by Amazon's two year warranty. Does anyone have experience with their warranty service?

Not exactly... He will know how their system works and what you can expect.

They have a pretty rigorous process for watches sold there. As to how exactly the warranty works he will have insight into how it works.
