In the endless quest for the perfect DJ, I've happened upon this piece, which I am seriously considering using as a "summer watch," for it screams beach weather and afternoon cocktails on the BBQ patio. The seller, M & B, is amazing, and it comes with papers. They are asking $5,995 USD. We will see where negotiating takes us. What are your thoughts? Too loud? Too gaudy? Or is just simply the perfect amount of vintage charm. Curious to hear your thoughts!
It’s a gorgeous “Buckley” dial and the price is fair considering it has papers and all lume plots are intact. I don’t it’s gaudy or pretentious at all. I say go for it!
Yea, the plots are very nice, which, for whatever reason, seems a bit hard to come by with these Buckley dials. And yes, I am very much considering this. Thanks for the push forward!
Nothing wrong with that, I’m weird for liking the Ikepod Seaslug though so not the best arbiter of normal.
I had one of these as a trial a few years back. I decided not to pull the trigger. Very bling but very nice.
Right, I am wavering between the "understated" 16014 and this. Rather opposite, I know. But still, this one just seems a bit more my speed at times.
Honestly...I could swear it was this watch. The paperwork looks familiar. Bracelet was too tight as well.
+1 Seriously, what's not to like? If I had any beaches or barbecues to head for, I'd be straight in there! You can have too many "restrained" watches - time to push that boat out, hell yeah!
Haha! Exactly. "Push the boat out," indeed!! And, I am in the same "boat" as you are...as we all probably are due to the pandemic. I suppose this watch just makes me think brighter days are ahead? Perhaps I am blinded by its presence...wishful thinking? I hope not. I do miss the beach.
Bottom line is that if the bracelet had fit, I might have bought it. I could not stop staring at it, so I say go for it.
One thing for sure: it's a watch you can trade for the last seat on a plane leaving a banana republic that just declared martial law and is shooting foreigners on sight. Seriously. And it's a great-looking watch which I'd wear in a heartbeat.
Ha! Yes, it has a pomp to it that is just shy of screaming "LOOK AT ME," one that might actually scream if it were fitted with diamond indices as oppose to Roman numerals. Thank you for the vote of confidence!
If you like want a Bi metal Rolex this is a stunning and affordable option compared to the other Rolex options. Bucky dials and bi metals are not my thing personally.
Yes, it is! The price seems too reasonable, almost. Perhaps a lot more folks feel the way you do and have skipped over it. Not that I mind that! Ha!
