If the Patek’s Breguet numerals are something you’re drawn too then maybe search for vintage Movado. Some really nice examples and they’re quite often two-tone dials.

Edit to add... maybe something this one I just found on IG (user: theydid)

Wow, never been into Movados until this pic!

I started reading this thread but... You love the 5196p.. Quite possibly the most beautiful modern patek ever made.. But you'd rather spend less so you looked through the nomos lineup???? Did I miss some significant amounts of mind altering drugs you took between the top and the bottom of the thread? Lol

I mean nomos make cool watches and all but this is like comparing a picasso with.. The winner of the local art fair? Or my kids painting (which is priceless but...)

Fwiw I am 95 Investment grade vintage now and this is one of the only modern watches I own. Along with the 5170g I think one of the top couple modern pateks and quite possibly a decent investment as well now that it's been discontinued

There's a very good one at European watch Co At a good price

Also.. Don't get divorced over a watch buy

However.. The answer to the original question is no.. There is not an alternative for a patek philippe at 2 to 6k.

I would love that dial if it was enamelled. It looks unfinished.
I find that similar and close, but not exactly what I want.

So you think my watchmaking is not as refined as PP?

Well if you’re talking about an alternative that’s 4-6 times cheaper than the Patek, then I’m sure it’s reasonable to accept some missing points. After all, if you want to race competitively at your local trackdays then a Trabant is not an alternative to a Porsche 911, but if you want to go to the local shops to buy some milk then even a bicycle is a good alternative to the 911.

So what does the OP want. If he wants precious metals and a “tier-one” manufacturer then you probably right, but maybe he wants an attractive case, a sub-seconds format, a two-tone dial, and a good name by normal standards. Then there are probably plenty of alternatives for under a $1000, let alone $4000-6000.

That is stunning

I keep holding off on this watch because of the 215 and caseback.

I wish they would update the movement like the 6119 and give it an exhibition caseback.

I’ve been on and off in this watch for ages now. But I do love them when I see them. I agree nicest modern patek in terms of design. I’ll likely commit if the movement update and caseback happens.

In my opinion what the OP is looking is an Hermes Slim d'Hermes
