Alternative To The 3750.50?

I lost my 3750.50 in my divorce and am amazed how the price of this watch has gone up so much in the last 8 years or so. While I love the watch, the perfect size of 42mm diameter, the history of the watch, and the fact I had wanted once since I was a kid watching the Apollo program, I didn't like the water resistance rating of 30m. The accuracy was about +15 sec/day, which was fine with me and I know I could have taken it in to have that adjusted since it was very consistent. Anyway, here is my quandary now. 1) I don't necessarily want the same watch as it will remind me of my ex, 2) I want a more accurate watch, 3) I want a 100m depth rating (I was a marine biologist and still am in and around the water all the time). I actually prefer the winding mechanism to self-wind, but that's not a deal breaker. I do not want a see-through back.

There is the 3210.50 (date watch) but it is 40mm, so not quite as large as the moon watch. The speedmaster co-axials are 44.5 mm, which is just too big for me.

Essentially, is there a speedmaster out there that is 42mm but has a different movement and is 100m rated? I've looked and looked and can't seem to find one.

    Thanks all.

Whew. I meant alternatives to the 3570.50, classic moon watch. Thanks again

I wouldn't wear a speedmaster in the water no matter what they say the water resistance is. I believe water will still seep into the watch through the pushers. Or am I wrong?

Yes, this might be it. I've seen this same watch on other watch sites and it didn't mention the co-axial escapement. Guess I forgot to go to the source. Anybody have a clue what this watch runs? The problem for me is actually finding a place that sells these, even Omega stores don't have everything. I'm also fine with purchasing it on Amazon or other reputable sites. I've heard horror stories about trying to actually get Omega serviced (time and expense) so I don't much care if it is purchased through Omega.

Wish they would just provide an updated version (better movement and depth rating) that wasn't necessarily a limited edition.

    thanks Privateday

You are welcome. Yes this will be challenging to source. You can ask our friend George THE Speedmaster dealer specialist here. Sent him a PM, he might be able to help you.

As water resistance I believe the water could seep if we use the pushers under water otherwise it should be safe IMO (I never test my self).

I also wonder why the modern speedmaster pro (sapphire sandwich) didn't get 100m design. Shouldn't be too hard with modern design and manufacturing precision.

I agree it rather attractive, but the case is 40mm
