·Today I have for sale this charming 1950's Alpina Automatic with two tone dial and bumper movement.
The waterproof steel case is manufactured by Taubert/Borgel and remains in great shape with the original vertical brushing still evident on the mid case sides. It has a distinctive ten sided screw back. I find the overall look very Omegaesque in its design.
The two tone cream dial is in excellent condition with golden recessed indices, applied logo and hands.
The case back engraving includes the triangular Alpina logo which is also found on dial and correct golden crown.
The bumper automatic calibre 584 is an attractive movement with its exposed springs. It is keeping decent time but I have no maintenance history for it and would recommend a service as the crown also slips a little when winding and setting.
