Something caught my eye early last week and before I knew it I was completing an impulse buy. I was a strictly vintage guy now I've just catapulted into the 2000's in what I think is a fitting addition to my small star themed vintage collection and is stunning fashion as far as moderns go.

Interestingly, this model seems to have gotten little attention on these forums.. Wore it for the first time today and just wow ::love::

    Nicely done Jeff
For the First time I can clearly see the rose gold with out having to put it beside a yellow gold watch.
I think you have a unique piece I haven't seen one on this forum

Yes, a 1951 square cosmic reissue. This thing's got heft. Definitely know you've got something on the wrist! Just love the way the beefy red gold case and dial furniture contrasts with the mid night blue dial and those lugs! Super reflective crystal makes it tough to capture, a couple more pics not doing it justice :(

This one really caught my eye on this page, so i can only imagine the Wow factor seeing it in the metal. Nice one!
I just love that whole Moon phase, day, month and date , small seconds design. A thinking mans watch, which, I imagine, like music with time, becomes natural!

Was looking at this in the Omega boutique on 5th Avenue only today. A lovely thing. I am still after the 1948 Museum watch but if I cannot find it then this is second on the list.

That doesn't look like anything I've ever seen before. It's marvelous. Congrats.

I considered the 1948 museum. It is beautiful but when you look at the cost of a good condition original example I can't justify the premium for new. The value factor is not there for me.
With the cosmic I take some comfort  in the fact that original in good condition is considerably more pricey than the repro. Sure, the collector in me wants 1951 but the museum's bang for the buck just became too compelling.

That's why I got it! The proverbial silver bullet as it fulfills a number of criteria/desires all in one: square case, red gold, cosmic moon phase, dark dial, modern technology, full set, good value.

There are other members who own this piece as well as the vintage ones. You may have to do a thread search to find them though.

It's a lovely model. The combination of a square face and moonphase really is exquisite.
