After about 5-6 delays and enough time for a couple friends to get a baby...I went to Omega to get this! To their credit they did give me a free baseball hat for my inconvenience although no credit for the 1400 dollar service cost....Enough of me talking!
Hi George, absolutely gorgeous, what are the #'s on this baby? I'm curious about the age and would love some juicy details regarding this beauty. About the $, remember that quality doesn't cost, it pays!
Well it is known as the phase de lune of 1983. It was Omega's last attempt right before going high end with the Louis Brandt series. It was a rather disaster as these pieces were very expensive to produce and people didn't feel compelled to pay that for Omega at the time. So I know I told you I was looking for a 1983 birth year speedmaster, and I'm sure you won't be parting with this soon after waiting so long, but... Dibs!
Nice but.... the dial has the characteristics of a sad face with the minute/hour hands resembling elongated whiskers.
4 years later and I stumble upon this.. Having yet to see this model until right now. You, sir have just presented a new grail for me! Gorgeous!
