Dear passionnates of Omega around the World 馃榿

I just bought a very used CK2998-62 with a lot of work on it, but you seems more accurate than me !

Here is some pictures:

It seems that everything match, the watch don't work anymore, but i found someone who could repair it, i already found the balance axe that is broken, the reste should be smooth after restoration !

I also want to know which crystal/plexi to buy and where ?
I'm hesitating about found a "new" Bezel (DON), what do you think about ?

Do you have advice about which strap i can put on it in steel ?

Thanks a lot for your help to get this old mama to have a new life 馃嵖

Polish crystal, service movement, replace all gaskets, add new bracelet or strap. Done.

Looks like the radium lume has been washed off or relumed. Have you applied for an extract? There鈥檚 plenty of examples on the tinternet if you search for a 2998 62 to compare.

Thankssss all 馃榾

Unfornatly the glass have cracks on it, so a polish wont recover it 馃檨 so need a new one do you know which and where to but it (im from europe)

I'm hesiting to do a very little polish on the case too...

What is the metal strap from omega that could match with it without spend 4k$ xD ?

I'm gonna clean it, and ask for an extract, do you need to send the watch to Omega for an extract ?

For the lume, the dial seems "clear" but hard to tell with this very used crystal...

Thanks again

I would stay on the bezel IMHO it match to the very worn case.
I think as long as there are no cracks this crystal can be polished to look like new.
I dont know if you like to have an original correct Omega strap matchin to the time your watch was made but there are other options:
You can buy a new one with endlinks from Omega or:

I love this strap !! https://www.uncleseiko.com/collecti...ga-speedmaster-19-20mm?variant=37783251255484

Does it comes with end links ?

You can order an extract at the Omega homepage.
Original parts you can only get at a watchmaker with an Omega parts account.

Normally I`m the type of vintage watch wearer that like his watches look as new but in your case there is really nothing to win so please leave this case alone it`s completley worn out (while others would say it tells his heavy patina story) so it would look odd when some parts are look like new while others are worn out.

Then change your watchmaker.
The aftermarket bracelets come with endlinks.
I dont know part numbers you need someone with Omega parts account as I stated above or someone like this on OF is kind enough to provide you with this information.

Im excited to share the finnish of this watch 馃榾
You`re welcome!

Nice watch! Think the hour and minute hands may be later as not sure if I am seeing a transverse curve in the pictures. Also, minute hand might be a bit short but can't really tell from pictures.

I would only have the movement serviced and use poly watch on the crystal. Don't polish the watch and I think the bezel goes great with the rest of the watch. Personally would do polywatch myself now to get a better look at that dial.

A -62 would have had Tritium
