Hi everyone, I picked up these two watches last week one at a market and the other at a garage sale, as I haven’t a clue what I’m looking at I was wondering if anyone could share some knowledge.
I know one is a seamaster cosmic and the other well.....
The seamaster keeps great time and I haven’t been able to take it off it’s such a great looking watch.
The other runs but felt quite tight when I wound it so I thought it best to leave it alone until I found out if it was worth the cost of a service.
Any info or thaughts would be appreciated.
😀

Gold-plated Seamaster Cosmic ... meh. 😉

The prize is a ref 2179 with a cal 30T2SC movement from the mid-1940s. It has some unfortunate dial damage, but it's a lovely watch - very collectible - and it looks good to me. Some of these were military issued I believe, but if yours doesn't have an engraving on the back, it was probably a civilian version.

I agree 100%.
I have the military version 2179/3 but otherwise is similar.

You are wise not to wind it until you get it checked out.

I think yours is a classic piece of history that, for better or for worse, shows the journey it's travelled.

You had a nice week!

Thank you for your time, they where both unexpected finds.
$6 well spent I’d say.

Congrats on the pickups!

At least the dial damage missed all the markers. Not a disaster by any means. I'd wear that as it is.
