Good day, I saw this beautiful Omega Ranchero and thinking of trying to buy it. For me as a non-expert the dial and everything seems original, except for the hand. I am curious about you experts opinion about this watch. Would you recommend to place a bid? Thank you for taking the time. Kind regards.
Finishes in about 15 hours from now Thinking about this one, it might not be a bad buy The serial number is high and despite issues already mentioned, it still has its original crown. If you sourced a central seconds hand and replaced that naff bracelet you might have a decent watch. Top it off with an extract from Omega, which if it confirms the caseback provenance you may well have a very good buy, especially if the bidding doesn’t go up much more You may also want to take into consideration the price of others on the market such as this ... https://www.cartermarsh.com/product/omega-ranchero-raf-signed-ref-ck2996-calibre-285-c-1962/ and the lollipop 2996 for sale at Vision Vintage https://www.visionvintagewatches.com/product-page/1958-omega-ranchero-2996-1-lollipop Just my thoughts of course (so take it as you will) but seen as everyone else is being quiet about this one I thought I’d chip in Good luck if you decide to bid
£200 less than it made at the same auction house on the 5th March..... https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/...0030/lot-78a50126-b72c-461c-aa3b-ab6f00c388bf
