HI all, I' ve been looking for a 168005 for a while, of course I would like to get a perfect example, at least with a perfect dial. This one to my untrained eyes seems pretty good. What do you guys think?
is 1500 euros to much for it?many thanks regards.

Honestly, it's hard to tell how 'perfect' the dial is with those photos. A straight-on photo with no glare and at high resolution would be useful.

It is also hard to tell if there is a scrape on the caseback from the rotor -- it looks like there may be a scrape, but the blown-out photo makes it hard to tell, and the movement photos are such that you cannot clearly see the rotor's steps.

If the photos are of the watch on the timing machine in a fully wound state, the amplitude is low even before you correct for the improper lift angle, which will make it even lower by about 18 degrees or so (I really wish people would learn how to use these machines when they buy one).

So it's gonna need a service. Count the cost of that in when you make your offer...

@Archer : Al, is there a reference source for lift angles for various movements?

i'll tell you what. it's awful pretty. even without a straight on dial shot I can't see it not being worth close to that money.

Gorgeous if it's real!
It's probably an optional illusion, but the MADE looks much bigger than the SWISS.

oh no doubt it's real. I think it's just the distortion from the acrylic crystal.

What number are those endlinks? They don’t seem correct to the piece. Nice watch, though.

hi there the seller says the caliber was completely dismantled, cleaned and oiled in an ultrasonic bath. deviation by + 5s / d. Power reserve approx.50h.

It’s certainly a good looking watch and the BOR is a nice bonus.
The late movt serial ties in with the later rotor style and the painted indices on the dial. (As opposed to onyx inserts)
I hope the movt shots are before service, as the crap embedded in the gasket and the regulator hard over to one side would worry me if they’re post-service.
There are feint signs of rotor rub but as Archer has said, factor in a service cost (which does raise the price somewhat)
Hope that helps

Thanks, that was helpful.
I found the lists I use by using a tool called a "search engine". Try googling that.

many of the older style beads of rice end links don't fit tightly to the cases. not uncommon with the vintage seamasters and constellations.

The problem with buying something that was serviced by the seller, is that they know that every part they replace is coming directly off their bottom line profits. Not saying all who service and sell do this, but I have had far too many "freshly serviced by seller" watches come across my bench that are full of worn parts to know that sellers who are doing a full and proper service are the exception rather than the rule.
