I don’t like the lume.. it’s possible that’s natural discoloration but I think more likely some kind of re-lume or other inlay.

Dial looks good but would like to see a photo without the hand obscuring the text. Case is nice. Movement is nice.

The regulator seems to be making a run for it, so I assume this is being sold as "needs a service"

Not sure on that if you zoom up the image the indicator looks central to me,also another photo of the dial

I’m not a watchmaker, I don’t even portray one on TV. So smarter people will weigh in. But, the regulator arm (the whatchamacallit) is heading the direction of the red arrow, and a serviced watch would have it on or near center where the blue arrow is shown.

Not exactly. Ideally the pointer would be centered, but there is no pointer, because this is a chronometer and it has fine regulation. The piece where your red arrow is, that's the point where the balance spring's pivot point is, it's in more or less the right spot.

So what you see here is perfectly fine and there is nothing to be concerned about.

Thanks for the assistance so far,l have looked at several of these while researching ,and I thought I was onto something this time, looking at the thread on omega calibres am I correct in thinking only 1000 of these 343 rg seamasters were made as a single consecutive run in 1950 or have I not understood this correctly
I know the seller well having purchased very successful from him in the past ,so was reasonably confident of his initial description
but a piece like this is never going to be bargain basement stuff and it’s good to have support of more experienced members
If I pull the trigger on this one I will let you know

I had to stop looking at your photos after a while - this watch is beautiful, and I wouldn't care whether the dial was 101% original: if it isn't, somebody made a superb job of it. I do hope you bag this! 😀
FWIW, my read of the official calibres list is that 5,000 343s were made, starting in 1949, and of those, there was a production run of 1,000 that happened in 1950 "(dont 1000 numéros consécutifs en 1950)" Yours looks like 1950 (according to the serial no. table that you posted here 😉 a while back), so bingo! (Btw mine hails from 1949 (11.5m xxx) - it's ref 2518 and has no "Seamaster" branding on the dial).

Hi,
Finally pulled the trigger on this one 😀😀😀 from the limited numbers out there I think I would have had a very long wait before anything much better might have turned up
