Advice on my vintage 1171 bracelet - bracelet stretch/hair pulling/removing fixed links

Hi All,
I've owned a 145.022-76 Speedmaster for a few years and bought it with a vintage 1171 bracelet that I believe to be original to the watch. I've opted not to wear it with the bracelet so far because it was pulling the hairs on my wrist and was also too loose. I feel like there is an issue with the bracelet because (1) my wrists aren’t that hairy, so it’s strange that it pulls my hairs so much and (2) my wrist is 6.5 inches, so it’s strange that my bracelet just won’t fit. I’ve included photos of the bracelet below.

I'd like to start wearing my watch on the bracelet from now on. I don't know much about bracelets and have a few questions:

(1) Is my bracelet very stretched and do I need to have someone remove the stretch? Will removing the stretch solve the hair-pulling problem? Is there something else that needs to be done to make it stop pulling at my wrist hair?
(2) Is there someone in the US who removes bracelet stretch on these bracelets for a reasonable price? I've seen some options for bracelet restoration that cost over $300 and I'm not sure if it's worth it at that price.
(2) If it isn't actually that stretched, is there a way to remove some links so the watch fits my wrist? I believe the bracelet only has fixed links because it looks like it's impossible to make the bracelet shorter without unfolding the center links.

Again, I've never learned much about vintage bracelets, so any help would be appreciated. I realize my questions probably sound super basic. Thanks so much!

show us the sides of the links, there should be holes in some of them? Thats how they are removed, friction pins on the older 1171 if I remember right but may be screws.

You will have to remove permanent links, a jeweler can do it. The stretch doesn't look excessive to me. I don't have an answer to the hair pulling, but if you wear it for a few days, I suspect all the hair will be pulled out, and you'll be good to go.

I’d save the bracelet and just buy a new 1171 from omega.

Unfortunately I think all I have are the permanent links. Neither side of the bracelet seems to have holes in any of the links..

Gotcha - is there a specific kind of jeweler that would be most adept at this? I don't want to give it to the wrong person and then have the links damaged - it seems like it's a delicate job to open them.

I would at least ask the jeweler if he has done it before. You need some special tools to remove fixed links which are connected with friction pins. Otherwise there is a good chance of deep cuts. Both outer parts of the link have to be locked and pulled apart.

kind regards Max
