i believed so too in that price range. knowing that the brand is now owned by montblanc, so it has a name with a well meaning history. i bought my mono rattrapante 15yrs ago at $500. but it has appreciated in value quite a lot already and could hardly let it go.

If the partner does not keep it paid € 1200 is a mark of value upwards.

"knowing that the brand is now owned by montblanc, so it has a name with a well meaning history." - If it is a pen, maybe.

dear all, ready for the weekend😀
I am looking at this Minerva Chrono 38mm (needs chrome playing as you can see). The machine is just serviced, dial says it’s original.
Anyone has some information about this watch , I have no idea about Minerva and I know that are in the radar of some collectors , any idea about value ?
Thanks
Another dial picture
Does anyone know what the avg cost of a top notch re-chroming would cost?

that watch carries a well known brand and a 1940s mono rattrapante caliber. Val22 (almost the same as valjoux84) is a historical movement for split second mechamism.

The Valjoux 22 is a perfectly good movement, but quite common, and not comparable in desirability to a mono-rattrapante Valjoux 84, despite the fact that they share some mechanical origins.

When you buy a Minerva must be for its manufacture 😀
I agree. When buying a Minerva, the collectability comes from the in-house movements. Look for a better example and one that is not a chrome case.

Wow, this was great for a chuckle.

I'll add that watch doesn't look recently serviced and the Minute Recording Jumper is a custom replacement (they're impossible to find though). Anybody else find it odd that it wasn't running in the pictures too?
