Advice on a Zodiac Seawolf?

I have a line on a barn-find Zodiac Seawolf for very little dosh up front. Before I take the plunge, I know that it needs a new mainspring and work on it's automatic winding mechanism. I know Zodiacs used a sealed barrel, which can be a right pain to replace. My watchmaker seems to think it's feasible, but I wanted to sound out folks here to see what their experiences might offer. I don't mind investing a bit in this, but I don't want to just chuck money in the bin!
