This speedy is in my neck of the woods, just looking for a little advice from the experts. Just adding to the collection of watches, hopefully. I understand the dial pic is lousy, supposed to get a better pic tomorrow. The serial number seems to be in the range of 1969. I see the bracelet is aftermarket.

Does it look like a decent watch, does the Don look legit, from the bad photo. Does the dial look like a service replacement, as well as the hands?
    Thanks

From those photos it looks nice. A “buy” at the right price.

    Terrible photos.

Looks like correct dial and bezel. Case looks fairly nice. Hands could be really nice but hard to be sure; the color suggests they are aged tritium, but I’d want much better photos.

The movement does not appear to have been abused. Does it run and reset properly?

At the right price and with better photos, this could be a solid acquisition.

I have a feeling that’s going to have some really nice matching patina on hands and dial. Brownie points for being unpolished.

    yes
no. Looks like a step dial to me.
    hands look okay too.

It's all about the asking price...

Have you seen the watch in person? What are your thoughts/concerns on it? What's the price?

I'm now mentally sucked into this as well, did we ever determine the price?

If he was waiting outside the shop for it to open, I believe the price should be in the “Steal” category... ;)
