I know the crown has been replaced, other than that I don't know much I am new to vintage omega watches. Real or fake? Thanks for all your help.

US produced gold cased watch. Often gold cases where locally produced to avoid gold tariffs. In this case Jonell in CT.

I’m not 100% sure if the dial was not redone at some point. I also cannot make out the caliber or serial number on the movement.

It’s real but the dial may have been redone at some point which hurts collector value. Case is ok and only lost a little bit of sharpness from polishing.

Movement looks clean. Has it been recently overhauled? If not the price should reflect that fact.

Caliber 500 correct OXG mark for US market. Serial number resolves to mid 60’s which is to be expected.

I thought that I read somewhere many years ago that omega never hallmark the outside of their watch cases. I know this is a US cased watch but I thought that consistency would prevail. Any thoughts.,

You do see very small single marks on the backs of lugs etc but never the full triangle or model number etc. This being a local US made case will play by different rules anyway. Dennison cases have small external marks. This watch is circa 1957 by the way, I think Foo made a typo above. I have something similar in an 18K Swiss case. It all checks out correct for a US version of the 2846. It is tricky to be sure but I do think that is a redial.
