Good morning everyone!

Stumbled upon this beauty of a Turler edition Omega seamaster calender. Reference 2849-10SC. Requesting movement pics from seller however while waiting on those to return - crown is not original but I hear these aren’t too bad to find. I’m more concerned with the missing lume plots, and whether it’s been relumed from one of the pictures. I have sent these questions to seller but am wondering what your opinions are on this. Up for 500USD.

I would find it very odd that the lume of a late 50s (or start 60s depending on serial number) will still glow so I suspect a re-lume.

I suspected so. How much does that hurt value in your opinion?

Please explain further. I’m not following
The black light, ultraviolet radiation, is stimulating the existing lume. While it probably still faintly glows from the radium in complete dark, the energy in the ultraviolet from that lamp is sufficient to light it up.

Ohh thank you for the clarification.

The dial is not in great condition. It’s probably been cleaned at some point. Yes, this hurts the value - the majority of the value of a vintage watch is in the dial condition.

I’m still learning. But what do you see that makes you say the condition is not great? And that it has even cleaned?

In my book this is a nice watch for $ 500. Maybe you can get it down a bit. For $ 400/450 you have a good deal. I agree the dial could have been cleaned because of the missing lume. But it's still a nice watch. I think in daylight it will look much better. The big hippocampus logo is a bit uncommon. Markers are great.

I'm in the middle, I like the case and think the dial is acceptable, almost in good shape but not quite. I do think a crystal polish will make a big difference, which is a plus, but the missing lume dots of the markers and quarters is a definite min. Watch out for the marker at 4, it looks like it may have come loose and been re-applied ( glued ) at some point

You could do a lot worse for $500.

I think it will look much better with a crystal polish.

Yeah case looks great but I am worried more about the missing lume plots now.

Has anyone seen any beefy lugged seamasters FS on this forum? Searched but couldn’t find much.
