Quick decision to be made. So i apologise because i did not have time to get pictures. I have arrived at a dilemma. One local seller is selling a pie pan 561 that is gold capped on stainless steel. Case is in fair condition and crown needs to be replaced. However I have also come across a vintage 351 that is housed in a solid 14k yellow gold case, crown is ok. Both movements seem clean but will of course need a service. Both have replacement crystals. Both dials have good patina and untouched. Same price. Can only get one by decree of the wife. Which one would you get?
One has to weigh the degree of patina against other tangible assets, wealth, job earnings. The younger wife may be costly to maintain and have other failings.
Will take pictures when I can but the connie might go soon. It's from a local seller. The patina on the connie is not as nice as the 14k cased 351
Appreciate your inputs. I would love to get both. It's not that I cannot but it's also the watchbox space. cicindela: noted. Will patiently wait for my 561. A caliber 5xx has been elusive for me. A 351 will be my 4th 3xx. Haha
