Dear OF-experts, fellow collectors, I need some advice on this late 60s connie, goldplated, prob. caliber 751, Ref 168.016 I have never before seen a crosshair-dial for this reference and the dial also doesn't pass the MOY-test, but I've heard that MOY is only valid for the older connies... I am also wondering about the stainless steel case back. Shouldn't it be an golden observatory on the caseback when goldplated? At this point I unfortunately can only provide these two pictures: Have you seen a similar model before or do you think it is a Franken or a redial at least? Your advice is highly appreciated! Thank you experts, thank you OF Rgds Stefan
Not too familiar with this reference but I can tell you for sure it’s a redial, fonts are all over the place. Also Chronometre should be spelled Chronometer on these later references. Not sure about the caseback others maybe able to add further. I would move on and find a nicer example.
As @Noddyman says it has been redialed. Looks like the guy doing it had a smaller template than proper for this reference - the "SWISS MADE" and seconds track are too close to the center of the dial. Not a bad template otherwise, mind you!
Another issue: Lume only on the hands and not on the indices Bottom indice hides parts of "Swiss made" Take a look at these other 168.016 https://www.google.de/search?q=168.016 omega&client=firefox-b-ab&dcr=0&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiegaqIuunXAhVjIJoKHTYkDbcQ_AUICigB&biw=1276&bih=734&dpr=1.25 No example for this kind of indice and those hands match..
