advice needed on a gold Omega " aviators " watch

·Thank you for your swift reply, the owner is a stubborn woman she claims it was her fathers and does not know how to open it, and wants to agree on a price first before I can actually look at it and check the movement, case back looks a bid odd.
But my best guess it is the same watch as shown in the catalogue but then the gold version.

Marking on the case back looks South American, a Swiss case would be marked on the inside.

If it's not a Swiss Made Omega signed case anything is possible.

My thoughts go along with the others, in that this was likely originally a watch in a steel Omega-made case that was re-cased in somewhere in South America, probably in the 1940's or 1950's. The movement should date from the 1930's. I believe the dial to be original Omega, although who knows about the relationship to the rest of the watch.
That being said, I have some concerns about the engraving of the hallmark. Looks like it was handmade. That could be good or it could be bad. Before considering a watch like this, I would insist on a jeweler's testing of the case for gold purity.
Here's another issue. According to the Omega Vintage Database, the Ref. CK 859 should have had the 30mm movement, not the 23.4mm movement (which is much smaller).

So does this means that either the 2007 Omegamania catalog was wrong, or the current listing on the OVD is wrong? Turns out that both are correct.
