Hello expert ,

I've been looking to buy a GMT 16750 or 1675 for my first vintage Rolex , I found 2 watch listed on chrono24 by “ The keystone watch company “ , and HQmilton site .

https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/gmt-master-stainless-steel-pepsi-ref-16750--id14619495.htm

https://www.hqmilton.com/timepieces...aster-1675-matte-dial-with-pepsi-insert-A3359

Could you advice whether these two watch are all original to the watch or perhaps service replacement for dial , bezel , hands marker .

I have no idea which is the best deal as price are few hundred bucks different.

I'm novice and I appreciate your help .

cheers

It's tough to evaluate those watches without seeing them.
Could you post the pictures on here rather than just links to the for-sale sites?

Pictures aren’t great but both appear correct (top one has a later bracelet, bottom one has service insert and bracelet serial is not known). If the budget allows I would hold out for a better case. Corona tells me the prices won’t be going up and time is on your side

I had the a same thought 😀 corona made the world crazy .

Top one stated " Excellent 78360 Oyster bracelet with 12 links, 580 end links and P1 date stamp".
Bottom one serial 78360 , endlink 580 as well.

Yes - the 1675 bracelet is from Jan 1991 which is much later than the watch production date
the 16750 does not specify bracelet

There are other watches available with a less molested case that may be slightly more but they may not be priced higher for long. Best advice is don’t rush and get the cheapest one you can find and ask questions

first choose between a 1675 and a 16750.
they are not the same watches.
personally I chose the 16750 because I am a lazy ...
I have enough of my 1680 to put on the right date 😁
then is the patina important for you?
This 1675 is withe.
16750 are often more orange.
not always.
the rule is to take your time and be well informed before.
I'll take the time to look at your photos when I have a moment.
to wait, my 16750 😉

Forget about the keystone watch. The insert doesn't look naturally aged and it's a service part anyway. The hands are unattractive. The bottom right lug looks especially polished but maybe it's just the photo.

The HQ Milton seems to have a nice case. The insert would have been really nice if it wasn't for the scratches between 2 and 4. Collectors tend to prefer a bit of patina on the index plots because that's what really gives the watch a vintage look.

I'd keep looking. Chrono24 is good for the quantity of watches on offer but real quality is lacking.

Get the GMT II. Far superior.

Additionally, and more importantly in terms of valuation, the dial does not match the serial. This watch should have and MK5.

and the insert looks suspect to me.

I have always been skeptical about the Mk2 5M serial watches, but they are discussed here in case anyone is interested:
https://gmtmaster1675.com/mark-2/

The buyer needs to do his research and decide for himself what his comfort level is with the originality of this. Alex is experienced and is obviously not a believer. I'm not really comfortable with it either. I would run a search on rolexforums and see if this issue has been discussed. Here is one thread:
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=623730

The insert is clearly a later blue-back, but the cost of a replacement may be priced-in if you decide that you are ok with the dial and case combo. Depends on the currency of the 11.5k, since we don't know if that's USD, Euros, or GBP.
