Just to confirm - is the new clasp a straight replacement for the 1589 PO bracelet?

Hi
Sorry just catching up on this thread.
Will this clasp work for the PO 2500?
And if so which one is the one everyone agrees works 1154 or 4666??

Both clasps work. The 4666 gives three adjustable positions and the 1154 gives 6 adjustable positions. For the 2500 bracelet you need to purchase additional endlinks to be compatible with the screw type bracelet. I’m not sure the part numbers for the links but there are several threads breaking down the part numbers and cost.

This was literally the convo I had last time I was in a boutique.
They said no.
So, part ordering I shall go....
OMF win again.

Here is a pic of the clasp part number from my receipt. Part number 0117STZ004666. This clasp gives you 4mm of extension. The 1154 clasp is quite a bit longer and gives you the ability to extend the bracelet quite a bit. I’m unsure if new enlinks/screws need to be purchased to use the 1154 clasp. I was under the impression that end links only needed to be purchased when retrofitting to a bracelet with tube & pins (I could be wrong though).

Sorry to bring up an ancient thread, but this just reminded me of something. I purchased that 0117STZ004666 many years ago for my 8500 PO 42mm, and assumed it was just a straight swap, but looks like there is another part on this receipt and wondered if that's what was needed, like there was for the 2500 PO. As you can see from the pics, when fitted, it doesn't sit flat or bend.

To this day, I still don’t understand how people did a straight swap. I tried it 3 or 4 times thinking I’m doing something wrong, or putting in at the wrong angle.

See how the original sits totally flat on 1st pic. 2nd is the fitting of the adjustable clasp, that won't bend.
Bottom pic shows you they're a different shaped end which I assume is stopping it from sitting flat?

Any help greatly appreciated

To the best of my knowledge it was a strait swap. I don’t remember buying anything other than the clasp itself. I don’t have the receipt anymore to confirm. Wish I could remember more. It was a long time ago.

On a 8500 PO you just need the clasp; am sure as sold an adjustable clasp 1159 to an 8500 PO owner and he did jot needed anything else.

Thanks, I quoted your original thread which still shows the copy of the receipt and there is two parts on it, that's what I meant.

Thanks, I think the 1159 is the bigger one isn't it? This is the 4666, and you can see it's a different shape to the original in my pics, which is why it won't bend back or sit flat. Makes no sense to me, unless it's just the bigger one that was the straight swap?

Yes, 1159 is the bigger size clasp; all 3 shown below. All of them have the same end link shape
/ connection

Have owned all 3 sizes, currently have 2 bracelets with the 4666 clasp

Thanks Sky, is it the same shape end as the one in my shot? I've tried putting it on with all angles, closed, open etc. Will not sit flat without the doubled up bracelet links. Did you use on the PO42 8500 or did you use on your 2500 PO. I got it from a genuine OB, here in London, so I know its a genuine part. It's a real annoyance though.

If the 4666 is from an Omega Boutique is genuine and should be the same as mines. The clasp endlinks you have in the bracelet have a different shape than the rest of the links; did you replaced them?

The guy bought my 1159 had a 8500 PO with the 1589/858 bracelet. What is the model of your bracelet ?

Check this:

https://www.swisswatchspares.com/pr...r-117stz004666-adjustable-shorter-steel-clasp

I've never touched the bracelet, other than to try and put this clasp on. That's how it came. Is that why, but why would it be different to any other 8500 PO?
I'll check the bracelet model and come back

1589/858. Same model number.... but the end clasp fitting is a very different shape
It will fit but as you see, it won't sit flat. Is the end fit of the 4666 the same as the 1159?
Another of my unsolved mysteries....

Understand 4666, 1154 and 1159 adjustable clasp have the same end fit. Seems to me the problem is your end clasp fittings and not the clasp....

Dunno mate, thanks for checking it out.
Strange, can anyone on here with the 8500 42mm PO tell if the end link with the two screws is different to theirs?

Has nobody else ever switched the 42mm 8500 PO out with the 4666 clasp?

These adjustable clasps are a huge upgrade. I was so happy when they got added to the Moonwatch bracelets. I have a PO without it from 2015 and I think this swap is a great idea.

Undoubtedly yes, I can't wear mine on the bracelet because it's either too big or too small. Nobody can work out why that link won't sit flat when the adjustable one is attached. The bracelet is so uncomfortable when loose because of the weight hence the need for it.

These 2 clasp ends are different shapes, but people say it should be a straight swap. It isn't. Presumably your 2015, is the 8500?

I would recommend not wasting your time with those expensive adjustable clasps and to just get a second half-link. It's about $50 for steel and double that for Ti. I also found it too loose or too tight, but discovered that 2 half-links together are slightly longer than one whole link and it's what made my PO a perfect fit with the original clasp. I also find all the new adjustable clasps to be painful to wear after about an hour because of that little arch to clear the pin. Almost all Omega clasps have it, but it's much more pronounced and noticeable on the wrist with the adjustable clasps and gives me a rash.

part numbers
steel 42mm (18mm) - 115st1589
steel 45mm (20mm) - 115st1590
titanium 42mm (18mm) - 115ti1590
titanium 45mm (20mm) - 115ti1590

Thanks for that! Is that the original clasp in your shot?
