I've been hankering after one of these for some time and finally pulled the trigger. I'd never worn one prior to the purchase so I was interested to wear the watch - I'm very pleased with how well it wears, it's very comfortable on this strap. It also came with the original bracelet which I have yet to try. It feels thinner than a Speedmaster or the IWC chronos that I have owned. This makes it two Zeniths in the watch box, and as I am trying hard to keep to "one in, one out" a Rolex is leaving and soon to be listed here.

I think I had that same watch. I remember the deployant for the strap was really uncomfortable on a bone in my wrist so I actually tracked down the original bracelet. Unfortunately, I never bonded with it.

Congrats M, these are nice watches. Being as Dan recognized it, I might as well post a photo of the 3019 EP on my wrist today, that he once owned, as well.

The strap is a new one that I purchased from @jankoxxx

Cool strap! These C Case El Primero are unbelievable bang for buck still

Nice. These are good value, I think.

I think they are too, compared to the price when new and current new prices I think they are a great used purchase.

Mine came with the leather strap pictured on the watch. It's an aftermarket non-Zenith deployant that is very comfortable. I'll try the bracelet
at some point I'm sure, but I prefer the look on leather and it is very comfortable.

They are good value and I looked at a few, but I'm just not a fan of that case deisgn. Maybe one day!

You made a good choice, Neil. The 1990's - early 2000's EPs have some nice, understated designs and are great value and yours is lovely. I have several cushion case watches and like the chunky 70's designs but they don't appeal to the masses, hence the low prices. I wanted a 3019 but the A384 and 386 were just too expensive for me. I have a two-tone, blue dial Rainbow from the early 90's as well.

Agreed. These are very good value, and still have the EP movement -- which is a fantastic, incredibly underappreciated by many collectors. M

I agree. I also have the one pictured below. I love the style of that era of Zenith and they are a great value, in my opinion.

The chronomaster moonphase is one of my favorites. I love the SS with Roman numerals, like yours. The black is just as nice. The Blancpains from that era have similar styled case designs. I am not a big fan of the huge cases in today's designs.

This era of El Primero definitely has a lot of appeal. I believe you have a 38mm, hand wound 420 movement. Looks great on your wrist.

I think 38mm is correct, although both of mine are automatic. I think there is a very similar hand-wound version of the black dial chrono.

The black is just as nice.

Yes, I almost bought the black dial version of the triple date moon-phase. I think that may be my favorite watch and I have far too many to chose from - not an admission I would make in front of certain family members ; -)

That strap does look great. I wonder if they still sell them ... Deployant or buckle?

Buckle, I really like the contrasting stitching, this is probably the best picture I have of it. I did try a while ago to see if I could get another one but gave up as I couldn't seem to find aone, maybe I didn't look in the right places.

I'm also a fan of brown straps with contrast stitching. If you ever find a source for those straps please let me know! Does the strap have the Zenith part number embossed inside like many Omega straps?

I'm away at work at the moment and not wearing the watch, when I get back home on the 13th I'll take some better pics and see if here is any part number on the inside, although I am not sure that there is.
