He's now dropped the asking price to €100 which is probably realistic if it is plated or filled (and the lug wear suggests this), but is still describing it as solid 14K (but with no pics to back this up). Anyone fancy taking a chance with this upright and trustworthy character 🤔

If I had been able give you information, would you have given me a commission on your sale?

Thought so.

You don’t even know who I am, I'm very surprised by how badly you're speaking to me.

That’s so cynical.. You even say that you are very sure that I’m that person. But I don’t have any rrelationship with this person. Moreover, I’m a girl and not a man. And you are just shooting insults…

I'm deeply confused by that scale. -20 to +3 is weird. I wonder what it's for.

Sorry, seemed a better use of this thread to wonder about that than the original intended purpose

I don't think the ad needs to talk about the lugs. They are visibly very distorted so potential buyers will know. However the inscription on the back is not shown which isn't cool.

The information itself, I can't make sense of.
It does say the dial is 18K which I don't know what it means. Is the dial itself made of solid gold? And it talks about a bumper mechanism which I also don't know what that is. Is that the movement itself?

There's no mention of the condition, case material, etc. Which is fair. No information > false information.

Personally I think the photos are way too blurry and there are no close-ups. There are no side pictures either and the crown is not visible at all. Personally I would only buy a watch like this for the movement if I needed it. But then I would want a photo of watch opened. And the innerside of the caseback. If it's a rare movement maybe it's worth the money.

This is not just about the ad. There are millions of deceiving ads out there that we can write about. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those are by OF members or frequent guests.

What I have a problem with is this behavior we observe with certain new members who think they are smart. The OP asked a question about a watch that he/she claimed to no have possession of. Within less than 24 hours, the watch somehow showed up, made it to a watchmaker and the information was provided to him. He then immediately posted it for sale.

We all benefit from the information already available on this forum just by searching. On top of that, members are willing to provide feedback within minutes, as long as the question is asked nicely. I don't claim to be one of those knowledgeable people, but I try to help in any way I can (maybe flagging BS is one of them). I just can't stand people who think they can post a random watch photo every day and ask for opinions and never follow up with it because they are looking for watches to flip for a quick few bucks.

No information > false information.
I agree with this to a certain extent, but it really depends on the situation. If the seller is aware of an issue with the watch they are posting, they should list it in the description. That's the right thing to do.
