Hey guys, I know there was a period where there was a batch of sapphire casebacks were made for some members here, tried to contact a bunch of them but couldn't get much info either. Anyone has a spare clear caseback for the A386, or rather knows where I can get one without it costing an arm and a leg? Appreciate it!

I guess they charge according to the watch's value They asked me less (~3000€ watch).

Not certain about the A3xx however Thomas Priek makes great examples for the Rainbow generation - Perhaps you can ask him about custom versions.

The ones from Thomas Priek are great, I am checking with him if he still has some in stock. He told me that he has now a full time job and no time to make any additional custom casebacks. If we are lucky, he has some old ones in stock ...

Unfortunately not, at least not yet. They have neither returned my calls, nor my email. They also seem to open the shop only after an appointment. I hope I can meet them in the next Munich watch fair, this coming Sunday. Were you @josephgsy able to contact them?

 

Hey guys, I got hold of the vintage caliber people on the phone today and will be visiting them at the end of next week. Whoever is interested in ordering a caseback with them, please let me know. I can assume we could get a better deal, if we order a couple of them. Please let me know also for which el primero reference you need the case back, as there maybe minimal differences between the different references that must be taken into account. Hi guys, I visited Vintage Caliber last Friday. The owner Mr. Stern is a very nice guy; he took time to discuss the details with me and measured my case back (of an A386 MK II) in detail. We also tested the case backs of my A3818 and A384 and they seem to have the same dimensions; they fit similarly to the original case back.
We could get a deal at around 240 Euros (or a bit less) depending on how many case backs we will order (3 or > 5). This is without shipping (I can ship the case backs to you after delivery) and for the following configuration: saphire glass 24mm (this would show the part of the movement that corresponds more or less to the flat part of the rotor) and 12 sides shape. Vintage caliber uses 316 Steel. The case back will be a bit thicker than the original case back (around 0,7mm thicker). If that's ok for you let me know and I will give a firm order. The case backs could be ready in about a week´s time.
