Funny, I was talking with a friend of mine at that Watch fair, when he sold an Eterna with unusual luminous dots on the Crystal ring...
I found a nice little T17 (that I didn't already have) :

Wow that is a nice looking watch. Well done! It "feels" old but it is in great condition. How old is it and what is the reference number if you don't mind me asking?

In Sydney at least, there's a monthly antiques fair with some watch dealers/desks. Decent looking Seikos (6138s and 6139s are a huge draw,) Omegas, Tudors, Rolexes, for anywhere between $300-$1500AUD. I know someone who was selling an Auricoste Type 20 and a Lemania single pusher for about $4000AUD.

Is this the guy at Wenthworth Park?

One of the guys, I've talked with two to three of them...you go as well @Drechristian?

Been there once, lost interest when he offered me a redial/fake WWW Omega, and $4,5k for the Auricoste ::facepalm1:: Any other suggestion on which markets to go?

Rozelle Collector's Markets have a couple of stalls; some stall runners only appear every so often. Mostly lower end/less known brands, though there can be the odd bargain to be had there. Have picked up Tissot, Fortis, and Cymas there. Condition may not be the best, however that's the fun of the hunt 😀

Ah really, will definitely go there this Sunday after brunch at Blackwattle Bay!

Nice t17...and Syrte maybe if you wore a name tag with a screen name they would probably end up asking you questions. I have always enjoyed your posts on one of other shared forums..

Thanks @ncstate1201, it's actually quite fun to go "undercover" in a watch fair 😀

You're a woman ? 😲 (not that that's a bad thing, I don't mean it like that, and I also don't mean it in a "wow I didn't know women were interested in watches" arrogant mysoginist way)

While the demographics of watch enthusiasts is mostly men I think from a marketing point of view you should treat everyone the same and not try to take advantage of people that seem/are amateurs. Then again, not everyone has this type of mindset, sadly.

So, you guys wanna buy a cheap rare Mondia Electronic tri-compax calatrava ? 😎

Elsewhere in my local market, there's a very lonely, 9 carat gilt edged tank shaped Tudor that still hasn't been sold for $295...I'll try to post a picture sometime next week.
Just displaying my complete lack of knowledge here, but where is that fair?

Edit: damn, must read to end of forum, before asking half-arsed questions.

That market at Rozelle School then? How do you know which week has the watches?

It's really an antiques/collectibles fair; it's held the first Sunday of every month at the Wentworth Park Sports Complex/Greyhound Racing ground (http://wentworthparkfair.com.au/) Pretty much right next to the Fish Market.

Though as @Drechristian says, got to be on the lookout for dealers trying to push a sale on 😜

Sounds like you had fun .I love it when people compartmentalize some1 when it comes to timepieces, whether it be a woman or man. I get the same kind of reaction when I go looking @ watches. I guess because I'm not sporting a fine suit & that I'm covered in tattoos instead = means I don't know S**T when it comes to a fine timepiece. Then I expose my knowledge & most if not all are left mouth agape in astonishment.
