Have a friend that took a liking to my spitfire back from service. He is offering a trade for one of his Tudors

What would you do ?

Bigger question … would YOU like the trade? Would you miss the IWC? Personally I suspect that the IWC is a higher grade watch overall.

Is this about valuation or personal preference? Either way, you probably know better than us. If you are tired of the IWC and like the looks of one of the Tudors ... then why not? Unless you sell watches frequently, selling is a pain in the neck, so a trade is a way to experience something new.

I would love an IWC. Could care less about Tudor.

Now a Tissot on the other hand ... (as long as it has a Lemania movement in it.)

I would keep IWC over either Tudor - IWC is clean, elegant looking watch.

Personally, I wouldn't but never really was interested in Tudor. Unless you've really been wanting a Tudor for a long time and don't wear the IWC, then might consider it. Overall, think the IWC works better in more situations.

So often we see instances where a member on the OB has re-acquired a watch he had sold or traded away, and has always regretted it. The watch was missed so badly that when it became available again, it was re-acquired. Don’t be one of those collectors!

How I acquired my IWC is what matters. I will keep her.
If the watch has a good story, was a gift from someone important to you etc, very difficult to justify having it depart. This is particularly true if in trade for a watch with no history.
