·Those who have read my previous post regarding my adventure with my Speedmasters - here is the follow up!
And for those of you that have missed it, here is a link:

After a few weeks, I started receiving updates, and a few questions from Simon which of course was very exciting!
We sorted out the questions, and after another month I received some pictures of the watches.
And Simon was on the final leg, so it was very pleasing to have these to look at.
There were still a few things, that we agreed on (the watches where not fully cleaned when the pictures were taken, the swap of the crown on the 68 not done etc).
So now I had to make plans to go to London!
Considering that the building industry I work in has ”Silly Season” right now up until the summer holiday, this was not the easiest thing to do!
Anyway, I booked the Red Eye flight to London, with a late return on the same day.
I checked up with Simon that he was fine with this, and he had time for me.
Wake up call at Shit O’clock and off to the airport, breakfast etc etc at the airport and a smooth flight to London.
Then on a train to central London.
But I had plans to have a break, play tourist and have a Brewski!
That done, on for the next train ride to Simon.
And when I finally arrived at Simons workshop,
Simon had place the watches on his glass shelf, exactly where I had left them!
We chatted a bit regarding what had happened since the last time we met, and then on to the watches!
We talked about each watch,
the things that had been done (I already knew most of it since Simon kept me updated),
and we had a lovely time.
I just have to write here that Simon is so likeable (is that a word…?🙄),
so dedicated and incredibly talented to his work!
I also had two other Speedmasters with me that also where in need for a service,
so we talked about these, made plans for them and then it was time for me head back to central London Again!
It was time to have a drink and wind down, and what's better than a G & T in London!
And then back to the airport, flight home, a car ride home, and arriving 01:40 AM at my place the next day!!
That was one loooooong journey, but worth every second!
Here is what Simon did:
The 69,
the hand were really messed up, so he did his best to adjust them.
There were some spots on the dial that he tried to get rid off as well.
The crown was badly scratched (you can see this on the picture) and since I was going to change the crown on my 67, he did a swap!
Polish to the crystal.
The 68,
the hands were not correct (to white and shiny/replacements), so he adjusted these also,
and changed the crown to a 24 tooth flatfoot (I had a lovely thread about this one...👎).
The dust cover was not the correct one, and I had bought one a couple of years ago (thanks there @dsio )
for a project that didn't pan out, so he changed this one also.
And a polish to the crystal.
The 66,
there was a big scratch on the crystal that he managed to polish out.
All of them got a well deserved service with cleaning, new gaskets and oils.!
Attaching tons of pictures, with several intervals/replies/comments!
Enjoy Folks, and have a lovely Sunday!
Breakfast at the airport!
Pitstop before visit to Simon!
Watches on Simons glass shelf!
Bedding them comfy for the travel home!
G & T in London!!
