Interesting auction, but space-flown Sokol & Orlan gloves aren't that rare so 99% of the auction estimated value is in the well-documented space-flown Omega Speedmaster chronograph and its bespoke strap.
I hope the auction house video meeting with the public featuring Apollo 16 astronaut Charlie Duke was longer & more interesting;
During Apollo 16, LMP Charlie Duke's NASA-issued Omega Speedmaster 105.012 (NASA n°
54) lost its hesalite during the lunar EVA. The official Apollo 16 mission report mentions this incident in every detail ending with the sentences: "The Apollo chronograph is a secondary timing device and is not critical to mission success or crew safety. There are no plans for corrective action."
We all know the manual winding Omega Speedmaster isn't any longer used for spacewalks and hasn't even flown with the Russians since March 2022 as the Soyuz MS-20 crew were the last spacefarers officially issued a manual winding Omega Speedmaster (December 2021).
By The Way thus far the Russian cosmonauts were the last to wear the manual winding Omega Speedmaster for spacewalks. Moreover on 17th August 2022, cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev even wore the analog/digital Speedmaster X-33 during a 4 hours long spacewalk!
The last manual winding Omega Speedmaster flown on a space mission was during the November 2024 sub-orbital Blue Origin NS-28 flight.
Moreover some of the SpaceX Axiom (Speedmaster X-33) and Blue Origin (manual winding Speedmaster) astronauts wore Omega chronographs with bespoke caseback showing the logo of their mission... #Moonwatchuniverse #Speedytuesday
