a simple Speedmaster question

I am looking for a Speedmaster to purchase, even though I have too many watches now. I live in Toronto Canada and if anyone knows a good bricks and mortar retailer, please let me know. I will be easy to please as a well serviced franken watch will not bother me.

My question is simple .... do the small dials in the face record stopwatch time only ..... and move only when the timer / stopwatch feature is being used ?

Thanks for giving me a greater appreciation of Omega watches !

The small seconds moves all of the time. The others record minutes and hours only for and when the chronograph (timer) is active.

The left small dial is the seconds hand, and runs all the time the watch is wound. The right and bottom small dials are part of the 'stopwatch' (as well as the third center-mounted hand grouped with the hour and minute hands).

The simple answer...yes and no. One of the small dials is the actual second hand for normal time keeping. While the Chrono seconds hand is the one that works for the Chrono. The other 2 are for the stopwatch.

Not much pickings in Toronto I'm afraid.. you can try the pawn shops around Jarvis and Queen. They often have Omega watches. I've seen some speedy reduced watches at a few. They also sell fakes - which they will admit when asked, but be careful.

There's a few AD's too and for the upper end, Raffi. The odd decent watch pops up on kijiji now and then too, but again, be careful.

Honestly, you're better off buying here or even ebay with a bit of research and probably some questions here before buying.

Good luck with the hunt!
