A really rare pie pan version?

Would you co consider this one rare? The seller says so because of the combination of ss case and golden indeces. I can't find any information on this one. 14902 Cal. 561., working but revision needed.
What do you think? And would you consider the price with 1850 Euro too high?

I don't know what these are selling for now, but there is nothing rare about a steel case and gold indices.

To a seller everything is rare.

To a buyer it’s usually only steaks that are rare.

That's exactly why I am asking here😀

@Peemacgee would be the better to answer price estimates.

But as above, sellers claiming rare, Is far from rare anymore 😁

I think sellers are starting to ask silly prices for pie-pans.
Nice enough watch.
Slightly worn crown side lugs.
Significantly bubbling-lacquer dial
In my book this is a max €1200 watch.
(1500 if the dial was in better nick. )

perhaps @Shabbaz might chime in with values?

edit. gold furniture on SS watches is nice but anything but rare.
(there’s a whole thread about it somewhere)

I would never pay EUR 1850 for this watch. I've sold my black pie pan connie for less not long ago. The seller needs to get real.

To be fair, the dial condition on that one kept a lot of buyers away. I am not saying that I am a fan of the aging of the dial in the OP though…

Funnily enough, I have just sold a 14902 for pretty much exactly what the watch in the OP costs:

Freshly serviced and running at less than +2 seconds a day...

There’s nothing rare about a vintage pie pan Constellation with a stainless steel case and gold hands and indices. Here’s my 167.005. This no date version is harder to find in good condition than it’s date window cousin, but I certainly wouldn’t call it rare. In any event, 1,850 Euro is too much for that watch.

Would not consider it being "rare", the dial design are among the most common. And price is to high (in my my opinion around 1000€)

Just ignore claims of rarity. As mentioned, many seller say that everything is rare. And even when a particular model is actually rare, that often doesn't mean anything in terms of value. With watches that are sold relatively often, like Constellations, you should do your own research on valuation using the SOLD item search on eBay, forum sales listings, auction sales (or items that don't meet the reserve), etc. You can get a very skewed perception of value if you just look at asking prices.

True. Dial condition was'nt perfect. But this is often as you know with black dials. But my point was that the OP's watch was in mediocre condition but the asking was higher then a black dial connie in better (in my view) condition. And believe me, there was more then enough interest. The only reason it did'nt sell directly was because of my holiday. I could have sold the watch to several buyers.
