A Project Longines Conquest Power Reserve

Hi Everyone!

I've been a long time lurker on the forum, so when I recently acquired an interesting project, I figured it would be a good time to actually contribute myself!

The watch in question is a Longines Conquest Power Reserve with no case or crown. Usually, I wouldn't consider buying a watch that was missing these components when I know they will be difficult to find, and expensive when I do. But the dial on this LCPR was in absolutely amazing condition with only a couple small marks on the power reserve wheel. As for the movement it's a 294, BUT has a 292 rotor. A little annoying, but considering the condition of the dial and the price I paid, I was happy to get this. Also, look at that nicely aged lume!

I guess the question to be asked is what does everyone think? How long will I be searching for a correct crown and case? Do we think this is a scalloped crown watch? Case back with fish or not? Would anyone here have taken on the task of completing this watch, or am I just the crazy one?

Best Regards,
Alberto

Alberto: congrats. At least for me, this Longines - model is absolutely desirable and lovely!!!
Concerning your question to complete the "building-site" : sorry, no idea, but good luck!
btw: I would guess: with fish

I do feel with fish is the more likely scenario, but I will say I have seen a lot of examples of the watch with nothing on the case back, and of those most most did not have gold dial furniture similar to my dial. I believe the "blank" casebacks were an option so that the customer could engrave the back? I could be wrong though.

Yeah, definitely could be with the fish. I wonder if that is something Longines would have in their records. I don't know if they still provide information on vintage pieces, but I did reach out to them. They would probably have the reference for the case, but not sure if that would identify what was on the casebacks.

Definitely contact Longines. They will be able to tell you the case reference and what metal it was made of. It won't mention the fish though.

Yeah I contacted Longines through the contact form a couple days ago but still haven't heard back. Not sure how long they take to respond, but I was at least expecting an automatic email from the contact form.

You'll get a response from a real person. They'll ask for close ups of the movement and that they clearly show the serial number.

Guess it just the waiting game. I sent quite a lot of photos of the dial and movement already, but I wouldn't mind shooting some more pics of the watch if I have too!
