Edit: Scroll down for the second example

Hi everyone,

I actually intended to post about the watch when I receive it, but I will likely not receive it for a month at least and I'm just too excited and too curious. Case size was reported as 28mm including the crown

Reverse image search couldn't find a similar caseback, so maybe it's not even Omega - but the price ($100) I got the watch for is so low that it wouldn't upset me. I plan to service and wear this watch if I can, and if it's nothing special but original. If it turns out to be anything special I will likely not be able to touch it

Have you ever seen a similar watch / what could the era be?

And the ChatGPT analysis - I didn't tell the case was 28mm so I think it eliminates the conversion possibility

If the watch is indeed this old, would be cool to wear a 100 year old watch

Sadly most people I shown are repulsed by the case, no respect

The only thing more repulsive than the case is the chat gpt.

You have a parts watch. Only question in my mind if the parts are Omega or not.

Beautiful little watch, keeping good time, high amplitude, 1923 from the serial

Perlage inside the caseback but nothing written, however the movement / case and caseback fitment seems to be very well - is it possible the case is original to the movement?

As the journey continues today I demagnetised the watch I got as the time keeping seemed irregular and things went awry for a while, the watch was erratic on the timegrapher - cleaned the balance suspecting it was a sticking hairspring and luckily it was either that or the demagnetiser messing things up, lesson learned to go light on these old watches. Right now it's at 0.3ms beat error and keeping time very well for it's age

When I removed the balance I saw that the movement model was 23.7 ST2 - so after some research these can't be from 1923 as the serial database suggests I assume, as the 23.7 ST2 is reported to be a 1925+ model (?)

It was nice to dive into another movement, and I really wonder and hope the dial on the second watch will be 3D too, with the taupe sections being lower than the white sections. If so, I wonder how many variations I can collect, as far as I looked at 23.7 models, there could be a roman numeral variant out there too

Interesting to learn about porcelain restoration, dials are the best part of these watches though, cases are toast
