·Hi All,
My name is TinTin, new OF member and a very happy owner of a pair of MK40’s.
I’ve been looking for quite a while for a Speedmaster with a couple of criteria’s. I wanted something around 40mm diameter, with date(s), automatic, bulletproof/easy to service and something “rare”, quirky and special 😀
The MK40 hit the nail with it its triple date complication and size that fits me perfectly. The 1151 caliber functions very well as a reliable workhorse.
The ones I have are:
MK40 3520.53.00 “Schumacher”
MK40 3523.81.00 “Japan Domestic Model” 1 of 1000 made.
Both of these watches have a very funky design. While the dial is very busy I love the Arabic numerals that helps to easier see the time.
The “JDM” looks stunning in real life with some nice, small subtle changes compared to “non-JDM” ones. It has an applied Omega logo, blue sunburst dial, silver sub-dials and a Red Crescent for the date indicator.
The “Schumi” has a funky and fun design with its colors.
Happy to be part of the OF.
Best regards,
TinTin
