I’m still salivating over the -69 you restored and sold back to the original owner. If this one’s half as good….

Very nice! I’m assuming either 2911xxxx or 2963xxxx serial range?

Very charming watch.
Are the difference in lume on the hands "ok" or will you source hands with a more uniform look?
Does it mean that some of the hands are service items, or can this lume-difference occur on hands that are original to the watch?

Slight Update. Here is my new one next to Joe's family heirloom. (Still waiting for its bracelet)

Slightly off topic here but I was just thinking this the other day…

Omega made a modern brown dial a decade ago, and they were not LEs but at the same time they were never big sellers. Since then those Ref 311.30.42.30.13.001 sapphire sandwich models, which were made as a tribute to the watches posted above have almost fallen off the map entirely. I haven’t seen one on eBay in auction form, or here, or even in the WRUW thread in ages, which makes me wonder if they might be one of the least common modern Moonwatch models to have not really gone up in price and demand.

Possibly because in hand it is really, really difficult to see any brown in those. Omega took the concept of subtle brown too far in my opinion. I want to like it, I really did. Maybe, like many things, I will come to like as it gets older.

Very true, also the choice of it being sapphire sandwich to broaden the appeal to general buyers when the chocolate would mainly appeal to moonwatch collectors who would prefer hesalite.

…btw , only asking because I have come across a set of tritium hands that are similarly varied in lume, and I am unsure if this is frowned upon by collectors, or something that is considered ok😀

Very nice as usual. Can't wait to see it cleaned up. I think the 69's and 71's are going to become more collectable.

Let me add another one. However, I agree that if the dial was meant to invoke the hue of the tropical dials, they didn't quite nail it. In addition, the dial color and bezel color are not the best match either.

I don't know why this kind of dial is so highly valued.
Which one are you referring to? The vintage or the modern?
