I’m sure some think it isn’t, but I am used to getting constant requests at work for the same kind of services and we maintain a folder of form letters to answer these kinds of questions.
We know based on usage data that stickies are almost never viewed by new members and are only used by longer term members to find threads they are frequently referencing or needing and even then only a handful of them which is why we cut them back drastically from in some cases 16 or more per topic back to 3 at most (ideally) as they’re largely ineffective.

The cookie cutter approach really doesn’t work for all watches though as there are some watches and references where a factory service is always the best option, some where the best option is an obscure provider like Aldo, or Paul for electric watches, or Abel for 70s case refinishing, and many that have been redialled poorly already where a factory service would either do no harm or make things better and I really don’t think there is an issue with replying to a member with advice and recommendations on a watch, we’ve been doing it for over 10 years now without an issue.

The "Don't send it to Omega" mantra has become a bit of a catch cry, but in certain cases it's well warranted.
On the other hand, the recommendation to ONLY use a suitable independent watchmaker is also an option to be considered.

Indeed, sometimes it feels like the mantra is trending towards "Don't ever send your watch to Omega under any circumstances, and only an idiot would suggest otherwise!"

My personal opinion is that a good independent watchmaker is the best option in most every case, but I appreciate diverse opinions and respecting one another.
