Really. A local guy who knows I buy watches knocked on my door and handed me this Seamaster Calendar Automatic, circa 1960. It is amazing that a vintage Omega would turn up in the small rural farming town where I live, but it is the benefit of letting people know I like old watches.
In my neighborhood a man with a gun would knock on my door and tell me to hand over my Seamaster Calendar Automatic, circa 1960.
In London they Knock on doors to Prey on Senior Citizens , They are called the "Knocker Boys" from Brighton !
Cool watch, and nice gesture. Hope you drop your neighbor a nice bottle of scotch or the like Late 50s for a few years IIRC 58 and 59 Someone here collects these models and there was a thread,
In comes @STANDY to introduce Seamaster fever Lovely to hear stories like this hope you have something planned to give back in return!
Standy hinted there was a thread with more info about these particular Seamasters. I scrolled through numerous pages of search results for "Seamaster 503" but couldn't find much. Any guidance in that direction would be appreciated! I did pay for the watch and gave a finder's fee to my neighbor (it wasn't his watch). For me, it's not about getting the watch at the lowest possible price, but rather creating a trusting relationship to have opportunities to buy more in the future.
