Tough choice, indeed, and I started my Lange journey with the same consideration. Platinum’s durability won me over and it took a 4 watch transaction to get me there.
Man o man... I just acquired a Patek and love it. Yet, the refinement of the movement finishing on Lange is spot on!
Finally pulled the trigger for an 1815 before the price adjustment. Intend to add a L1 to the collection once I offload some of my unloved pieces in the collection.
Congrats! I suggest sooner than later for a L1 if your collection can accommodate. Not long ago you could find them below $20k, some as low as $17k if the seller was motivated, but low $20’s seems like the floor at the moment // still pretty amazing that the Lange 1 can be had at that price given what vintage sport watches regularly trade for.
Definitely! Missed the boat for the sub 20k pieces (had the opportunity but I regrettably went for GO+Moser+RD+GP )
I wonder if ALS will become Patek level. They certainly seem to have the chops for it. Now just need incredible brand marketing.
Here's one of my "top 5" watches from my collection - the Saxonia Thin 37 mm. It's so understated and elegant, and can be worn anywhere/any time. Yet it's one of the best watches out there. I love it so much!
