In case anyone is seeking to buy a copy of the wonderful AJTT book, I heard today that there is expected to be an updated 2014 version to be launched soon (timeframe not clear - could be weeks, could be longer).

If anyone knows more on the timing then please share so I can inform Santa's helpers!!

Where did you hear that from ? Previously we've heard it's going out of print and won't be reprinted.

Not according to the management of the Omega Museum in Biel, who specifically stated it would be well into the future and had not even been started yet as of July 2, 2014. These folks tend to know, as they would be the ones tasked with the job. In fact, they advise to get them while you can as when they are gone it will be a long time in coming for a new one.

Right, besides Marco Richon who wrote the book (former Director of the Museum as well) has retired so it's hard to see someone stepping in for an "updated version".

Interesting - thanks for sharing. In fairness, I suspect an update or appendix wouldn't take long and the research would be pretty simple given that it presumably only needs to cover the last 7 years?

I was actually told of this at one of the Omega Boutiques but, as I say, they were not clear on the time frame which is the frustrating part hence my original question (sounds like it will be later rather than sooner!). Murphy's Law dictates that the moment I pay up for a copy of the original book, the very next day the updated version will be launched!

Actually there are numerous corrections in facts and new information going back many many decades and they have no intention of revising until they can do a thorough top to bottom revision.

Gratuitous self promotion - I like it! ..... but only because it's for this valuable reference book.

I think most of us are going to rely on the management of the Omega Museum (who are responsible for writing the book) instead of an unknown boutique salesman :whistling:

Exactly - the Boutique staff may have told you this because they're out of stock on the current AJTT.

Picked up one yesterday at the Tourbillion boutique here in Amsterdam. Paid EUR 300. They have one more copy left.

You can't just throw that out Phil. As nice as that may be to hear, We want to hear supporting facts. What is the source? When? Where? Who is working on it. Who has confirmed, etc.
