Found this speedmaster could probably get for about 2500.00

Looks like it went to service in 2015 at omega.

No steel band. This band was like a rubber/ neoprene

What research did you do yourself?

Good question. I looked through the information. Service that was done was in 2015 and cost 1400.00.

The band I can’t seem to find one like it but it’s nice.

Ones with the band are all over the place in price.

Did you look at similar examples of the same reference?

Those are service hands and dial. If that is okay with you, price is not horrible. But you could probably find an all original one for the same price.

What if I can do this watch for 1800.00. Is this a great deal ?

Money better spent on a black bay 58 (which I’m kinda eyeing) or a Rolex Sub (11k)

I don't know about you, but in my case, the OP watch would not scratch the itch for one of those two watches.

These Mk IV Speedmasters are quirky, and not broadly popular, but if you like it, that's the important thing.

That case isn’t my cup of tea. That said, it seems you are still in the early stages of deciding what watch you want. I’d keep looking until I found the one that lit my fire.

If you’re looking at a Sub a Black Bay and a mark whatever Speedmaster it would be better to try and few on and decide what you actually want before laying down any cash.
I don’t think it’s a great deal, but even if it was, it won’t be if you have the hassle of selling in two months because you decide you want something else.
