Hey folks, I was able to go to the Baselworld show this year - unfortunately we didn't have a meeting with Omega themselves, but I did get the chance to see their stand. Quite a few releases that haven't been mentioned officially by Omega, I particularly liked the blue dialled cal. 9300 Speedmasters Enjoy! Chris
The closest will probably be the blue dialled 9300, which shares the same "built up" (for want of a better description) sub dials on it. Looks like they're doing a black dial in a red gold case too Chris
Chris...Thanks for Posting... the pictures look great, but as we all know, pictures rarely match up in life...sometimes the pics are more flattering, often they do no justice to the watch... what would you say about these? Did you get to trial any on the wrist? "didn't have a meeting with Omega" ?- Who'd you meet with?... I thought you were out of the watch retail game...haven't been to the Rolex forum much, finding things so much nicer here in Omegaland...
You're absolutely right - I think of my pictures, the one that is the most misleading is the Constellation - quite disappointing in the metal. The others looked really sharp - on the new cal. 9300 Speedmasters, the sub dials add a bit of extra texture to the dial, and the shade of blue they're using looks great too. The Good Planet PO GMT is a lot nicer than the promo pics would suggest - the orange isn't as prominent, and looks like a good combination in the metal. The Dark Side of the Moon looks absolutely superb as well, for me, it was the watch of the show I went to Basel with my old boss - he wanted my opinions on a few items - unfortunately, they're no longer stocking Omega, hence no meeting on the Omega stand itself, so I was only able to look at them from the outside of the display cases. I did get onto the Rolex stand, though, as well as Oris and Tissot - Tissot have got some really cool pieces coming out this year, they're doing a nice world timer and they're also doing a skeletonised piece which looks like it's based on the same base movement as the XL Railmaster, they're going for a rather industrial look with that one As it happens, I'm starting a new job with the Omega Boutique in Brent Cross, London, on Tuesday - just a sales role, but I'm very excited to be getting back into the biz. Hopefully I'll be able to put my knowledge to good use! Chris
Hey, we're always sticking our noses in the window of the Brent X boutique . I'm sure you'll be a huge improvement on the young boys they've had in there recently. If you're in there at weekends, I will stop by and say hello.
Warren really needs to re-read his posts before posting.... Or do I just have a sick mind? ::facepalm::
See, here in Australia we have the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, so regardless of the cost of the prescription, we only pay $36.... So ill take a AT rose gold black dial, thanks!
12-18 months away i was told yesterday! 15,000 Gauss AT is sept 12 Also due this year is the New Zealand Americas Cup which celebrates the sailing both will come as a std and a Regatta version. Both also look nice!
I read in a blog (http://www.independentjewellers.com/blog/2013/04/baselworld-2013-day-3-omega-tissot-movado/) that it will be available before christmas in Canada.
