·I am usually a one watch kind of guy -and that is Constellations
- so this is a bit of a departure for me
however -my interest was recently piqued by the lovely 2872 on the sales forum
and low and behold a similar version -but with the tachy ring, grained dial and coffin-shaped indices -came up for auction recently and I just couldn't resist
A splendid 18k pink gold OT-2872-62 (or at least that is the reference the auction house gave it)
not a huge watch - approx 35mm top to bottom excl lugs - but wears large enough on my puny wrists
320 movement (sorry no pics yet)
around 1960 I guess?
not perfect -showing some signs of its age and a little corrosion on the smaller hands - but a pretty good sharp case
sweet little box -but I suspect not the original (bit small?)
(the hands, indices and case look different colours in the pics but all match)
thank you to the members who offered me their advice prior to bidding
enjoy...
