this is about to close on eBay in an hour or so - currently running at £1,220
apart from the wrong yellow crown and poor redial - it appears to have yellow arrowheads coupled with a pink case.
(and pink hour/minute hands coupled with yellow second hand)
so whats going on there then?

    I do have another question
it's a snapback case and the case back lacks the expected brickwork observatory, and has the non-gold case star style/arrangement.
Anybody know if early French or English cases departed from the Swiss originals in this way?

no inside shots of the case back -even though the seller states the caliber and year :cautious: Screen Shot 2018-05-05 at 16.37.48.png

Well I wasn’t ready to call it a complete fake as the arrowheads didn’t look crappy enough to raise immediate concerns and I haven’t studied theses early case styles enough to be certain
    - and it’s usually the doglegs that get the full fake treatment.
At least the bidding didn’t rise in the last two hours of the auction - which is unusual - so I hope at least some of the bidders read this thread

    Thanks for the thread link

As I said - doglegs are generally pretty easy to spot but I wasn't 100% about earlier references

However this sums it up nicely:

“Well the first flag to look for in a pre 168.009/17 gold Constellation is the case back medallion. In all instances, an 18k gold Constellation will have a brickwork observatory roof. From 168.009/17 the reverse then occurs with solid gold Constellations.
    Cheers
    Desmond“

I pity the poor b*st’d who paid £1,220 for the watch
