I am looking at two watches. One is an Aqua Terra 42mm (2502.50) with a black face and SS bracelet. The watch was serviced by Omega ($600) last April. I believe this includes a two-year Omega warranty. Vendor wants USD $2300. The other is an Omega De Ville Prestige Co-Axial 39.5 mm - 424.13.40.20.01.001 purchased at an AD in May 2019; so the warranty is there for 4.5 years. Vendor wants USD $2000. Any thoughts, plus/minus, on which way I should lean? All comments are welcomed. Thanks.
Aqua Terra is a better all around watch, while De Villa is more dress. Depends how ya dress and what else is in your collection. If this going to be an every day watch Aqua Terra for sure!
It’s you that will wear it so go for the one that YOU prefer. Asking for others opinion about two so different watches will not help you. If you buy an almost new or one under service warranty doesn’t matter. It’s better you use condition as selection criteria.
Do not worry about 300$ difference. Go for what your heart is telling you if you want to have a long-term relationship with your watch. For if you buy it and don't like, you don't wear it, etc. I agree with previous comments about DV being more dressy and AT more rugged/sports/everyday watch. So, ask your self what kind of person you are and go with that. Pictures would be great.
I have a co-worker with a Modern Speedmaster, Oris Diver, Baume and Mercier Chrono. Since he bought his Aqua Terra, he hasn’t worn anything else. Such a great all-around watch.
