9300 DSOM SHORT ON POWER RESERVE

I recently purchased a new Omega 9300 caliber Dark Side of the Moon. I don’t wear the watch every day and I often wind it for extra reserve power. I find that after about 36-40 hours of not wearing it, the watch stops. Can anyone explain this? The watch is supposed to have 60 hours of reserve power. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum.

Someone will come along soon to ask how much you are able to wind it, have you counted the turns? To hasten that questions arrival, you might want to change your thread title to something more relevant, like “short 9300 DSOM power reserve”

All best wishes for a happy Sunday

How far can you drive on half a tank of gas? Turn the winding crown about 50 times, re-set the watch, take note of the time you started the test, and get back to us after 60 hours. Refrain from wearing it during the test, and don’t manually wind it again until the end of the test.

I have a steel Speedmaster 9300 and I noticed the same thing. If I wind my PO 8900, AT 8500, and Speedy 9300... the Speedy always stops significantly quicker than the others.

My DSOTM usually lasts a little over 60 hours on a full tank

Mine too

just wind it until you feel and hear the clicks-
That’s fully wound

My 9300 never clicks but i do feel quite a lot of resistance as it’s closer to the full tank.

is it a loud click? I might be missing it.

Not very loud but noticeable. You cannot overwind this movement so turn away.
