Hi all, just purchased this beauty off Ebay...£420 with box and papers...with a nice rolled gold Fixoflex bracelet.l thought it was great value, the movement being one of Longines standard work horse pieces .A vertical brushed dial and original signed crown and keeping good time...an identical one, albeit with leather strap amazingly went for £1,900 at a high end London jewellers a couple of years ago...they must have greaf salespeople.

It's movement is imported by Baum and the case is made by David Shackman and Sons, which was typical after Dennison closed in 1967

Nice vintage Longines, I like the dial texture.
The flexi isn't Longines and can chew away at the lugs, so I'd ditch it and get a nice strap.

Absolutely remove the bracelet. I have a handful of examples of those actually destroying the case.

The crown on that is really cool! I also love the dial. I haven't dug into a 370 yet, but older Longines are my favorite movements. IMO, they are the highest quality/nicest looking movements I've worked on. Not quite as many jewels/etc as a Rolex, but nicer finishing.

It's interesting you mentioning Rolex and the finishing...I won't disrespect modern ones but I know that vintage standard Rolex used Aegler movements as I remember...and exactly the same movement went into Gruen watches...id have thought a nicer replacement spring and aftermarket embellishment may have happened , but a 1960s Rolex can be £1,500 and a 1960s Gruen runs to £50 ..and for that reason I won't own one.Generally I've found out that repaired vintage Rolex are replaced Gruens

Rolex has never been known for producing superlative movements, except in their own advertising.
